Revving Up Community Spirit:

2026 Annal Car Show

On April 18, downtown Sylvester came alive for the 2026 Annual Car Show, bringing together car enthusiasts, families, and visitors from across the region for a day full of horsepower, connection, and community pride.

With over 150 registered vehicles and record attendance, this year’s show was one of the largest to date. From classic restorations to modern favorites, and everything in between, the event celebrated craftsmanship, creativity, and a shared love for the open road.

But what many don’t see is the work that happens long before the first engine rolls in.

Months in the Making

The Annual Car Show is powered by a dedicated team of volunteers who serve on the Car Show Committee. Months ahead of the event, this group is hard at work securing sponsors, organizing registrations, coordinating logistics, planning awards, and making sure every detail is in place.

Under the leadership of Chair Chris Shipp and Vice Chair Philip Duke, the committee’s commitment ensures the event continues to grow year after year, creating an experience the entire community can enjoy.

More Than Just Cars

While the vehicles may be the main attraction, the Car Show is about so much more.

It’s about bringing people together.

It’s about celebrating local businesses.

And it’s about showcasing the energy and hospitality that make Worth County special.

Events like this create opportunities for connection, neighbors catching up, visitors exploring downtown, and businesses engaging with new faces, all while highlighting the pride people have in this community.

Celebrating Community, Leadership, and Growth: 2026 Annual Awards Luncheon

On February 25, the Worth County Chamber welcomed business leaders, community partners, and residents for the 2026 Annual Awards Luncheon, and what a celebration it was.

Originally planned for 160 guests, the event quickly grew beyond expectations, with more than 200 attendees coming together to recognize the people and organizations that continue to move Worth County forward. The room was full of energy, connection, and a shared sense of pride in the community we call home.

While the turnout made for a packed space, it also created something even more meaningful. Neighbors made room for neighbors, conversations flowed easily, and the focus stayed exactly where it belonged, on celebrating the success and impact of our local businesses and leaders.

2025 Farmers Appreciation Dinner - February 11th, 2025

The Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce and the Farmers Ag Committee hosted our Annual Farmers Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday, February 11th, 2025, at the Ag Pavilion in Worth County.

The doors opened at 6:00 pm and the farmers and their families were treated to a meal catered by Fat Boys BBQ & More.

Ms. Kayla Myers, President/CEO of the Chamber, welcomed the farmers and thanked our sponsors. Mr. Phil Brown gave thanks and blessed the meal. The Worth County High School JROTC presented the colors, Mr. Browning Watts led the pledge, and Mr. Cameron Roland sang the National Anthem. Mr. Scott Carlson then presented our Farmer Awards for 2024. The awards that were presented to the farmers were created by the WCHS CTAE Welding and Carpentry program.

In the next part of the program, Agriculture Chair Kaley Bowen, Vice Chair Mr. Trent Davis, Grace Anne Hardin from the Sylvester Local News, and LaraBeth Fritzler for the Sylvester Worth County Chamber proceeded to give out over $1,600 in cash door prizes, and various gifts.

The Assistant Principal/ CTAE Director of WCHS, Ms. Sandy Bozeman, wrapped up the evening by asking everyone to look around the room. With RAMPRIDE she highlighted the efforts made by the Ram Tech CTAE program: the Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resource class provided our decorations, the Welding and Construction classes provided us with our Farmers Awards, and our 4H and FFA students helped serve drinks. She ended with a heartfelt thank you to all our Worth County Farmers for all they do for our community.

60th Annual Peanut Festival

Another One for the History Books!

From our Peanut Pageant in August to our Pets n Pals Parade, this year's festival was a huge success! Our pageant had a variety of wonderful applicants, our parade was the best its ever been, and our festival had a record number of vendors!

First, we would like to thank ALL of our sponsors and volunteers that helped to make this year's festival possible. This truly could not have been done without your hard work and dedication.

The festival itself was full of fun entertainment and activities for kids of all ages!

While the kids could enjoy fun at the Kidz Korner and our races and relays, the adults could roam around enjoying our wide variety of vendors and entertainment. Our world class entertainment included the choirs of the Worth County School System, a Gospel Band, Jay Short and the Dogwood Creek Band, and the Grammy Award Winning Artist John Berry!

Thank you to Eric Hatcher, our Entertainment Chair, for helping make all of this possible!

And as our final event of the festival, our Pets n ' Pals parade was held on October 24th in Downtown Sylvester! We had everything from witches to our favorite animated characters enter into the parade.

Scholarship Recipients

CTAE Scholarship Recipients

On Thursday May 16th, the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Education committee awarded 5 CTAE scholarships to the following high school seniors: Austin Connell, Thomas Cross, LaraBeth Fritzler, Kaleigh Giddens, and Ka'ori Wallace. This scholarship is only awarded to students who attend Worth County High School and have participated in the RAMTECH CTAE programs. This scholarship is funded through our annual 50/50 raffle.

Car Show Scholarship Recipient

On Thursday May 16th, the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Car Show Committee awarded Austin Atkinson the Automotive Scholarship. This scholarship is only awarded to students who attend Worth County High School and who have excelled in the Automotive CTAE program.

Farmers Appreciation Scholarship Recipient

On Thursday, May 16th, 2024 the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Agricultural Committee awarded LaraBeth Fritzler the Farmers Appreciation Scholarship. This scholarship is only awarded to students who are the child/grandchild of a Worth County Farmer OR are an FFA student, in the 4-H program in their junior and senior year of high school, and/or current college students pursuing and Agriculture related field AND must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout their junior and senior years.

Help us congratulate all of our scholarship recipients! They have worked incredibly hard throughout the years to get where they are now. We wish you all nothing but the best.

On August 22, 2023, the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce hosted an insightful presentation by Georgia Chamber of Commerce CEO Chris Clark at the Worth County Community Center. We would like to thank Chris Clark, Riffany Holmes, and Morgan Law for coming to Worth County and taking the time to update our community on what is to come in the "Future of Small Business".

The presentation focused on the NEW Georgia economy, and how to better navigate for our businesses, students, and our community as a whole. Chris Shipp, our Membership Committee Chair and owner of Shipp Shape Lawn Service, welcomed everyone and thanked our sponsors. Without them, these events cannot happen.

Mr. Will Peterson introduced our Guest Speaker, Chris Clark, who spoke on the New Georgia Economy. Ms. Tammy McCrary had the pleasure of presenting Chris Clark with an original art piece from local artist Alison Kilcrease.

The room was full of over 100 attendees including small business owners, non-profit leaders, educators, community leaders, students, and Chamber members.

The Workforce Bootcamp Committee and the Worth County School Systems and CTAE Program were on hand to help set up and break down the event. The Worth County High School Culinary class prepared sack lunches for the event.

We would also like to thank Nehemiah Cummings and Justin Judy for setting up the sound system, Tammy McCrary for helping prevent and manage technical issues, the Worth County Board of Commissioners, and the Worth County EDA for the use of the Community Center.

Pageant beauties mark your calendars for this years Georgia Peanut Pageant!

This year's pageant will be held on August 26, 2023 at the Worth County High School Gymnatorium. The pageant will begin at 5:00 pm.

Join Us for Our Future of Small Business Luncheon

The Future of Small Business Luncheon is an event that brings together our local small business and our community to discuss the current state and future prospects of the business industry. At this event, we will hear from the Georgia Chamber CEO, Chris Clark, who will discuss the economic outlook of the future of small business and our upcoming workforce. As the state's largest and most powerful voice for business, the Georgia Chamber seeks to understand the unique needs of Georgia communities and businesses while educating leaders about future-focused issues that will impact our state. Chris Clark will lead discussions around the currect state of our economy and unpack the opportunities and challenges on the horizon. Business leaders, elected officials, small business owners, and chamber members come together in targeted groups to foster meaningful dialogue and exchange ideas.

Meet Your Speaker - Chris Clark | Georgia Chamber CEO

A Georgia native, Chris Clark has served as the President/CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce since 2010. Chris Previously served as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Executive Director of the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, and as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Economic Development among other positions. He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and Georgia College and State University. This year, Chris published his first book, The CEO Imperative , and made his debut Tedx Talk, Servant Hearted Leadership .

Chris and his wife, Tiffany, and their son, Christian, live in Peachtree City and attend Dogwood Church .

For over a century, the Georgia Chamber has focused on advocacy for free enterprise, policy development, business and economic development, events and engagement opportunities, and provides numerous Chamber services for small businesses. Today, the Georgia Chamber represents over 50,000 members in 159 counties and works with 161 local and binational chambers every day.

How long have they been in business in Sylvester?

What motivated them to start their business?

The General Manager Mark Lane has a location in Bainbridge. He was driving through Sylvester, and fell in love with the building and wanted to put a Uncle Bill's in Sylvester.

Specials/Deals for Customers

They have an all you can eat and drink lunch and dinner special. The Lunch is $10.99 and the dinner is $12.99.

What's an important dish?

The name of the dish is the "Joe Lane Special". It's in honor of the General Manager Mark Lane's father. And if you add jalapenos, they are free of charge.

Scavenger Hunt of Historic Downtown

On May 25, 2023 at the train depot porch, we had our first Scavenger Hunt of our Historic Downtown area. This event brought out people of all ages. People came in teams or even decided to participate alone. It was a fun activity to not only win prizes, but to learn about the rich history of our historic downtown. Everyone had a great time, and we are looking forward to doing this event again in the near future.

Congratulations to Our Scholarship Recipients!

On Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce's Car Show, Education, and Agricuture committees proudly awarded scholarships totaling $5,000 to six outstanding seniors from Worth County High School's Class of 2023. These scholarships help to support and empower the next generation of leaders in our community!

Agriculture Committee Scholarships - 3 at $1,000 each

This scholarship is for students who are a child/grandchild of a Worth County Farmer OR an FFA student, in the 4-H program in their junior and senior year of High School, and/or current college students pursuing an agricultural related field in college AND must have maintained a minimum of a 3.0 average throughout the 11-12 grades.

This year's recipients were Peyton Gwines, Ali Strenth, and Gavin Young.

CTAE Scholarships - 2 at $500 each

This scholarship is provided by the Education committee and is only available for students who attend Worth County Schools and have participated in the Ramtech CTAE programs. The funds for this scholarshp come from our 50/50 raffle.

This year's recipients were Conner Mullen and Gavin Young.

Car Show Committee - 1 at $1,000

This scholarship is provided by the Car Show committee and is only available for students who attend Worth County High School and have participated in the Automotive CTAE program.

This year's recipients was Wesley Childress.

On behalf of the Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Ambassadors, and Staff we would like to congratulate these scholarship recipients and wish all of the Class of 2023 the best of luck!
